  • When done correctly, the cladding process of a property can last a very long time, but after some time, there may be a need for it to undergo a repairing process. Stucco and EIFS repair are what we do best at Stucco Repairs Los Angeles.
When it comes to stucco and EIFS, they have the probability of lasting for 100 years. Be that as it may, the surfaces they cover can become permeable. When water finds its way through cracks and holes into the underlying surface, it causes further damage to the stucco and EIFS.
Thereby leading to the looseness of the areas that can cause more significant damage.

To avoid extreme damages, the Stucco and EIFS areas that have become loose or fallen away must be repaired — removing the loose material, installing new building paper and metal lath, and applying coats of stucco repair mix. This process ensures that a building has a long lifespan.

Here is the breakdown of what we do to at Stucco Repairs Los Angeles to ensure an EIFS and Stucco repair that befits your building:

    1. Break off loose Stucco.
We ensure to remove all sorts of Stucco that are loose, through chiseling, hammering, etc. In the process, we provide that the underlying supports are not damaged.

    2. Chip the edges away.
The edges of the loose Stucco are properly chipped out to ensure that there is firmness at those edges before the Stucco repair on the surface where the loose stucco has been removed.

    3. Cover the exposed lath.
We trim a builder paper around the surface that has been chipped and fit it around the boundary. We fasten the paper to the lath with roofing nails; afterward we apply a second paper before the application of Stucco.

    4. Mesh placement.
To ensure tightening of the exposed surface, we use a galvanized metal lath over the paper and trim it tight against the edge of the Stucco. And then more roofing nails are put through the mesh and into the wood lath.

    5. Stucco Mixture
This is achieved by mixing the acrylic bonding agent to improve the adhesion of the new Stucco to the old surface.

Then, we scratch it and apply the finishing coating that makes it finally available for painting. But if need be, we can apply a second coating before painting.

  2. Adhesive or glue,  attaches insulation board to the supporting structure. Mechanical fasteners, such as screws, can be used in some cases.
  3. A foam insulation board is secured to the exterior wall surface substrate, most often with adhesive.
  4. A base coat, either an acrylic or polymer-based cement material, is applied to the top of the insulation then reinforced with glass fiber reinforcement mesh.
  5. The reinforcement mesh is embedded in the base coat material.
  6. A layer of paint that is for appearance.
